On Tuesday 15th January, the CCP were delighted to welcome a class of undergraduate competition students from the Sookmyung Women’s University in Korea.

The students presented a mock trial to an audience of research associates and PhD students. The mock trial was based around the commercial activities of two fictitious companies (Zolly Pharma Asia Pacific Korea Co Ltd and LMS Gildong Co Ltd) who were alleged to have engaged in anticompetitive practices: namely, retail price maintenance and cartel membership. The students gave a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting performance which provided many insights into the workings of a trial involving South Korean competition law. Their presentation was very well received by members of the audience and it inspired a number of questions relating to the various intricacies of Korean competition policy.

Discussions continued on over tea with other faculty members from CCP.  We wish the students of Sookmyung every success for the future.
